Approach St Austell from either the A30 or the A38 and make for the A390.

At a twin roundabout, with McDonalds on one side and a Texaco Garage on the other, take the B3273 to Mevagissey. Follow the road for approximately four miles, passing through London Apprentice, until you see the Mill Garage (Texaco station) on your left hand side.

Turn left into the village immediately after the petrol station the sign says Pentewan village. Carry on over the little narrow bridge, past the entrance to the free car park. The Ancient Shipbrokers is just a few meters further on the left. There is plenty of room to park safely off-road in front of the house. If you would like a hand carrying in your bags we will be more than happy to help.

Access Statement

Ancient Shipbrokers has 3 parking places which are off-road. A designated turning place is provided at the end of our cul-de-sac in front of No 5 Higher West End ( 60 metres ) , as there is no through road in this private location. There are 2 options to approach the House from the parking spaces.

1) 7 wide low- gradient, granite steps broken into a rise of 4 and then 3, and a winding path through flower beds to the front door ,where there are a further 4 granite steps. A handrail and evening lighting is situated by the entrance .approx 18 m to the front door.

2) A tarmacadam low- gradient path that leads through a 6 ft garden gate to the garden lawn area. There are no steps and this is most suitable for suitcases on wheels or bicycles. approx 30m to the front door. The front door leads into a porch and an inner glazed door all on one level. The staircase from this level, to all three bedrooms, has a curved wooden, 19 century handrail and a large half landing. The low - rise treads making it easy to climb. The Dining room and Guest information is on the ground floor.

The bedrooms and en -suite facilities are flat with no steps. Full fire safety alarms and lighted escape routes are installed. Please note that we are happy to help with luggage on arrival…just bring yourselves and your hand luggage !! and take in the view.
